Blog #5

This is the original photograph. It was taken on the way to my grandfathers cabin in upstate, New York. I barely edited it, and only fixed the lighting.
I used the original photograph in a portfolio review and I was told I should've gotten out of the car [it was taken while I was in a moving vehicle] to take the picture. I felt the person who did the reviewing didn't appreciate the entire photo, but I tried to crop it so it looks like I was not in a car.
In this cropping, I attempted to remove the manmade objects in the photo. I removed the road, the signs, and placement flags. I could not remove the power lines because I have not yet installed my Photoshop. [It would have looked completely juvenile if I had used another program.]
In this photograph, I did just the opposite. I cropped it to put most of the focus on the manmade things. This photographs also forces you to forget about all the nature in the background.
