Blog Assignment 3

I decided that the subject of my project would be my roommate Trevor. I spent an afternoon hanging out with him and managed to take many excellent shots exemplifying different photographic techniques.
And then I couldn't access those photographs.
Instead I will be posting several shots taken with my cell phone camera, most taken during my trial run to see if Trevor would be a suitable subject. Also appearing are our friends Anna and Hope. My apologies for the poor quality of the pictures.

I like in this picture how the lighting is emphasizing the emotions. The girls, surrounded by light, are having a jovial moment, while Trevor, in the darker portion of the picture, looks unimpressed.

The cropping in this picture is what makes it stand out to me. You don't see what the two are looking at, which makes it interesting.


I was curious to see how the orientation would affect this picture.

This was taken after a squabble between the two, and they are separated quite harshly in the picture. The floor is providing a physical barrier between the two, while the lighting serves to highlight the separation.

This might be my favorite picture of the five. It's very difficult to make out details of the picture, but the energy is quite apparent and you can see that Trevor is enjoying himself.
